Welcome

You are invited to become a part of our Christian community known as The Congregational Church of Sun City (CCSC). This is a warm, friendly church, where we hope you will feel at home. We aim to provide opportunities for worship, education and spiritual development.

Our church was founded by Dr. John Alexander in May 1976. Dr. John came out to Sun City under the assistance of The Church Development Division of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC).

The founding members of our church began meeting for worship in Dr. John's home, and as the numbers grew, the land upon which the church now stands was purchased, the sanctuary was opened in 1981, and the fellowship hall became known as Alexander Hall in 1985.

The Congregational Church of Sun City extends its fellowship beyond this local community by beings a member church of The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches, with some four hundred truly historical Congregational Churches across the nation.

This is a church in which you will hear Biblical sermons preached each week from our pulpit. You will have the opportunity to grow in your faith with scriptural based Bible studies. For a complete list of our doctrinal beliefs, please contact us and we will be sure to send it to you. If you would like to discuss any of these core beliefs, please contact us at admin@ccscaz.org.

FAITH

Congregationalists are men and women of faith: faith in God, faith in Jesus Christ, faith in the Bible as the Christian's guidebook, faith in the Christian Church as the fellowship of Christ's followers, and faith in the way we live as Christian disciples.

The basis of membership in the Congregational Church of Sun City is a covenant, not a creed, in which a member commits his or her life to God through Christ, and assumes the obligations and accepts the privileges of church membership.

We have adopted the following as our covenant:

We covenant with the Lord and with one another, in the fellowship of this church, for the purpose of worshiping God, and in our endeavor to make His will dominant in the lives of people, especially as His will is made known to use in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Freedom

Our Pilgrim ancestors endured persecution in England and eventually migrated to these shores in their quest for freedom to worship God according to the dictates of their own consciences. Basic human freedoms were built into their religious and political life. Human personality was not to be violated by any power. This spirit of freedom, which they founded in their Congregational Churches, has continued to be a cherished principle.

Within a Congregational Church, each member possesses freedom of belief and worship. Our Church is autonomous and self-governing, its program and policy are determined by its members and implemented through voluntary cooperation.

The freedoms we protect are freedom to worship God, to band ourselves together in Christian fellowship and service, and to build God's kingdom according to the light God gives us.

Fellowship

Fellowship is the cornerstone of an effective and vital Congregational Church. To us, fellowship is that unconditional love and concern which we show to one another, which reflects God's love for us. It is a firm belief that in a free fellowship men and women can build a strong and meaningful Church. The fellowship of the Congregational Church of Sun City seeks to strengthen personal and family life, and beyond this to join with other Christians in the work of the Church universal.

The Congregational Church of Sun City extends its fellowship beyond the local community by joining in association of Congregational Christian Churches. Through this tie, we are able to participate in a fellowship which reaches out beyond our community and our country into the world.

Members of the Congregational Church of Sun City form a fellowship of love and warmth, in which all are invited to join.

We are a busy and active church, and we invite you to participate in some of the programs which we have. See some of our fellowship activities in our photo gallery!
